Hard to find freeware and shareware.
Some rare freeware and shareware, for MS- DOS
that I find useful or fun. Most, I wrote for
my own use, yet are user friendly. Most have been
compressed in .zip format and must be unZIPed with
something like PKUNZIP. I believe these are the
best programs available.

Bulk search and replace across many files. - I use it to manage my
Web site. (no long file names; xxxxxxxx.xxx DOS format
only)
- LISTER,
lister09.zip 42K search, condense, & analyze huge files: creates
a mini-file from a huge file using up to ten keywords at once.
PICTVIEW, Feb 98,

and manager I use with the Norton Commander shell,
a super clean high quality mouse driven, very fast picture viewer
or converter. (I also use the special JPG viewer.) Freeware from Prague.
- PRINTB, an easy yet powerful letter quality
matrix printer utility to release the power of 50 of your
printer's hidden hardware switches, and more. - Advantages: much
higher printer speed with increased versitility. (Includes
two doc-squashers, one with over four-to-one compression.)(Currently adding e-mail/Usenet text-file reformatter.)
- SNAKEY, a fast pacman-like game, uses artificial intelligence to bust your chops or self-adjusts skill for children. Always brutal, (G).
EDIT, edit files over 3 megs in text or binary, split-screen editing, open 9 files at a time.
